<더 문> 'The Moon' Movie Review

The release of Korea's first outer space blockbuster caught people's attention. The movie also hyped up K-pop idol group EXO's fans, since the lead role is Doh Kyung-soo (aka D.O.) of EXO. Along with a lot of renowned actors, The Moon launched its way forward.

The story is centered on an astronaut Seon-woo, a former UDT. He joins the mission to go to the moon, but unexpected natural accidents lead to difficulties, leaving him in danger of being stranded in outer space.

Overall, the movie was amazing and thrilling. The personal stories of the characters were well-organized, making it easy to emphasize with them. The CG skills were absolutely astonishing, leaving a great impression. And although Doh Kyung-soo's acting seemed a little awkward in the beginning, he clearly proves his worth as time goes on. It was also inspiring to watch the skilled acting of Seol Kyung-gu, Kim Hee-ae, and Lee Sung-min.

However, some parts were a little bit disappointing. A few parts of the script seemed desperate to squeeze out certain emotions from the audience. And it was a shame that some characters lacked independence, though it might have been inevitable.

Nonetheless, The Moon is a splendid blockbuster to watch. The view of outer space and the moon is epic. And another important thing... Since Doh Kyung-soo's character encounters many hardships, he rarely smiles; but when he does smile his own beautiful smile, that's all it takes:)

Review: The spaceship launched successfully, but left some loads behind.
