<약한영웅 Class 1> 'Weak Hero Class 1' Drama Review
Today, the second season of the drama series Weak Hero is to be finally released after 3 years. The series was originally launched in OTT platform Wavve, but due to its popularity moved to a bigger platform. You can now see both seasons on Netflix.
Yeon Si-eun isn't built for fights. He is small and weak, and his only goal is getting perfect grades. He doesn't even make friends at all. One day, his tranquil school life changes when the school bullies target him. With his clever mind, Si-eun punishes the bullies by force and soon finds himself getting close to two new friends.
Maybe Si-eun was lonely after all. His tedious life begins to change, merrier than before. But tragically, the bullies gather others for their revenge, and Si-eun gets involved more deeply into a violent turmoil. The situation worsens until a series of violence and betrayal results in his best friend Su-ho falling into a coma.
Si-eun regrets everything. He wasn't meant to make friends in the first place; how did he end up in this mess? Perhaps he shouldn't have hoped for happiness, maybe he was too greedy. Engulfed in guilt and despair, Si-eun transfers to Eunjang High School. And what happens here is the story of the second season, Weak Hero Class 2.
Weak Hero Class 1 gave me goosebumps; especially by actor Park Ji-hun playing Si-eun. The anguish in his eyes will bring any viewer to tears. Naturally, high expectations for the second season!
Review: Drowned in despair, barely holding on to a faint memory.
