<헤어질 결심> 'Decision To Leave' Movie Review



  It's clear that the Korean movie representing the year 2022 is <Decision To Leave>, the phenomenal movie directed by director Park Chan-Wook. The movie was awarded various prizes, including a prize in Festival de Cannes as Best Director, and is now waiting for the 95th Academy Awards to begin, as it was nominated for Best Foreign Language Film. With another exciting event coming up, Koreans are determined to witness yet another accomplishment.

  In <Decision To Leave>, Park Hae-il stars as Hae-jun and Tang Wei stars as Seo-rae. They meet as police and suspect. Seo-rae is the prime suspect for murdering her husband, and Hae-jun follows her around to figure out who she really is. Seo-rae is depicted as a mysterious woman, but as time passes, Hae-jun gets attracted to her, and they gradually develop feelings for each other. 

  But this is only the beginning of a perhaps never ending story, and by the time you reach the end, you will find yourself stuck in an emotional blizzard of everything. And you'll have a hard time finding your way out.

<시민덕희> 'Citizen of a Kind' Movie Review

  This type of Korean movie is typical, yet strangely rare these days. It depicts Korean's joy and sorrow in a humorous way. Ten years ago, these movies were often screened, gaining immense popularity with little failure. Citizen of a Kind made me reminisce the good old days by evoking familiarity.    Duk-Hee is a common citizen working her busy day to day life. When she is in desperate need of money, she is scammed by voice phishing. In despair she runs to the police, only to find that punishing voice phishing criminals is difficult. The police isn't helpful at all. Then one day she receives a call from the phishing caller himself. He claims that he will help her retrieve money by providing inside information, asking in return for her help.   Everyone will be able to enjoy the movie, meanwhile also feeling sympathy for the characters. <서울의 봄> '12.12: The Day' Movie Review

  The night everything changed, December 12, 1979. This day remains to all Koreans as an unbelievable historical event. After the 10.26 incident when President Park Chung-Hee was assassinated, a time so called "Seoul's spring" comes, citizens celebrating the end of 18 years of dictatorship.
