<경성크리처 시즌2> ‘Gyeongseong Creature Season 2’ Drama Review

When the first season of the show was released a year ago, nobody paid much attention. Despite being released on Netflix, the most popular OTT platform in Korea, there were more negative reviews than positive ones. Honestly, I didn’t pay much attention to why they thought the show was lacking. But I was confident that depicting the cruelty of Japanese rule in such a way itself was enough to prove the show’s worth. The overall plot and artistic production also seemed great to me. Now, the second season of the quite controversial Gyeongseong Creature has been released; and it’s a relief that I can express my support more openly, now that the show receives much positive likes from viewers. Good thing I had unwavering trust in the series!

Chae-ok has come back from the dead thanks to Nagin her creature-mother fed her. Consequently, she is no longer a normal human being. She has to constantly overcome her crave for human blood, and she no longer ages. Chae-ok has lived like this for 79 years, keeping a low profile. Then one day, she comes across a crime scene made by one of her own kind. While looking into the case, she meets Ho-Jae who unbelievably looks exactly like her lover from 79 years ago.

The story of season 2 is closely connected to the first season. The first season has 10 episodes, the second one 7. You will be able to catch the gist of the show even if you abandon the first season, but I suggest you watch from the start. That way you’ll possibly be overwhelmed by a heartwarming sensation. With lots of spectacular action scenes to see, along with endearing, heartbreaking romance, Gyeongseong Creature Season 2 will surely be liked worldwide. Plus, I can’t help but mention; Han So-Hee’s beauty is shockingly insane! She made Chae-ok come to life splendidly.

And no matter what, we must never forget the dark times of Japanese rule. Remember to keep fighting forward because fleeing is never an option.

Review: It’s always been you. And ‘you’ stand for so much more.
