<나인퍼즐> 'Nine Puzzles' Drama Review

For ten years, the two of them only had each other. The relationship could last because one held onto it, for she had no one else left. The other hated the bond. But he couldn’t just ignore her, because she was the prime suspect of a murder case. She was suspected to have killed her uncle. And he was a cop. She claimed memory loss from witnessing the scene, but how could anyone believe such nonsense? With the only evidence left to trace the killer, a puzzle left in the crime scene, she never gave up on finding the truth.

More nonsense came when she became a profiler and volunteered for his partner. Insisting that her uncle was in fact murdered by a serial killer. She had her reasons. Another puzzle had been delivered to her right after a recent murder. It was odd that the killing would start again after ten years. Suspecting the murderer to be someone who knew her well, she starts profiling those close to her. As she comes closer to the truth, more puzzles appear, more murders occur.

The victims eventually lead her to the killer. Only to realize that she and the killer only had each other, too. That unknowingly, they were both saving each other from destruction. Their final hope and salvation, warmth and comfort.

Nine Puzzles is a mystery thriller, but the key to watching the drama is not to be obsessed with simply finding the culprit. Rather, the puzzles are the culprit's desperate plea for acknowledgement. Nine puzzles for nine murders. Later on, discretion becomes of less importance. Because as the end is near, mysteries aren't necessary anymore.

Review: I see me through your eyes.
